Dr. Carol B. Letzter is a dually NYS Licensed Audiologist
and Speech-Language Pathologist. She is also dually Certified
by The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and a Fellow
of The American Academy of Audiology. Dr. Letzter holds The Doctorate
of Audiology Degree from Pennsylvania’s prestigious College of
Optometry - School of Audiology. Prior to receiving her doctorate
degree she received her Master of Arts Degree in Audiology from
Hofstra University and a second Master of Arts Degree in Speech-Language
Pathology from C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University.
Dr. Letzter is a caring and sensitive professional who
has dedicated many years to serving infants through geriatric
patients who have a variety of communication difficulties resulting
from delays in development, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury,
cerebral vascular accidents (strokes), and other neurological
and genetic disorders. Dr. Letzter specializes in evaluating infants
and young children for speech-language-hearing disorders by using
tests designed specifically for children as well as the latest
diagnostic equipment available.
In
addition, she enjoys testing and treating school-aged children,
ages 6-18 years, for Central Auditory Processing difficulties
that may be impacting on their educational achievement. Dr. Letzter
is one of the few Audiologists here on Long Island offering this
specialized service. She evaluates patients of all ages who may
benefit from the use of hearing aids which will assist in improving
their hearing in many listening situations. Dr. Letzter has been
providing quality services since 1985 in a comfortable and caring
atmosphere.
